Marketing blindness – Government complacency

We all know that marketers have great difficulty getting their heads around the implications of the aging population. This seems to be a minor affliction compared with the complacency and ineptitude of governments.

Standard & Poor’s has published a report looking at the financial implications of European Union enlargement.

One of its chilling conclusions, related to the aging population, is that “government complacency, particularly over pensions, could leave Europe without a single AAA- rated state by as early as 2043”.
