Wine and the 50-plus

I just found this report about wine drinking and the 50-plus – a subject about which I have a passing interest!

The data for this study was collected in February/March 2007 using the Wine Intelligence’s Vinitrac UK online survey of 1,002 UK regular wine drinkers

It would have been more use if the study showed the breakdown by age and also the difference between the social economic groups. My hunch is that there is a massive difference between 50-65 ABs and 65+ C1C2DE groups. By massive I mean orders of magnitude.

One interesting observation is the higher use of the Internet channel by the 50-plus. This will result from the high levels of Internet use by AB group. Interesting stuff. Dick Stroud
