This is the front cover of the Spectator magazine. The main article, by Melaine Phillips, does a great job of dissecting the torrent of the nonsense that is talked about how the baby boomers are to blame for everything from the recession to the weather.
She is particularly scathing of David Willetts, the guy who wrote the awful book Pinch and rightly so. This was 99% about Mr Willetts raising his profile and 1% trying to understand the issue.
I have to say I am getting bored senseless with the continual rehashing of arguments for and against the young and the old. In the place of any reasoned discussion we have each side (mostly those blaming everything on the old) screaming abuse.
I guess simple minds need simple solutions and rather than trying to understand the multiple factors that contribute to the economic state of world it is easy to find a scapegoat and blame it all on them. Dick Stroud
