I have tried to get a better quality version of this image but without success. Even at this quality it tells a dramatic story of how fast and how comprehensively planet Earth is ageing. I am sure if I looked around enough on this web site (Mapping Worlds) I would find the tools to recreate the image.
If you want to do your own calculations by country, date and gender then have a look at the latest tool released by the UN World Population Division. It is a much fancier version of the old one. Dick Stroud
