The hordes of retirees should be a big boost for charities. I have my doubts.

Are retiring oldies a rich vein of charitable giving to be mined or instead a bunch of tight-fisted (add your own word)?

This report from AgeWave suggest that it is the former. I am not so sure if that applies to outside the US. I think charities are going to need to be very smart at segmenting their market. Sure there will be a lot of junk being taken to the charity shops as older people declutter but only a few will be making the big payments.

See what you think of the report. Dick Stroud
