Once in a while you are told about a web site, visit the thing and are amazed at what you find.
I was told to visit www.usability.gov as a source of information about Web site usability (ie the skill of making it easier to use a Web site).
You would never guess who is funding the venture. It is the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
NCI provides this resource, believing that ‘Clear and effective online communication to patients, health professionals and researchers is a critical element in the overall communications strategy of the National Cancer Institute’ I think this is really laudable and shows a great deal of insight.
Improving Web site usability is, as I keep saying, a fundamental thing to improving the way the 50+ use Web sites. If you are involved in designing or specifying Web sites then go and look.
