Good news for the print media

Finland has the world’s highest use of the internet, mobile phones and just about any other form of electronic device you care to mention. Despite this devotion to all things electronic it appears that the readership of the print media is increasing. According to TNS Gallup the readership of newspapers has increased 5% during the past 2 years. The 50+ component of this growth is a staggering 14% for women and 12% for men.

Methinks that if these numbers are correct then there must be a huge drop in readership at the other end of the age range. I suspect that where Finland goes today the rest of Europe will be tomorrow. Long live the print media, well at least for the 50+.
