Anything but Zimmer Frames

Mr Tony Nash aims to deliver the first satellite channel targeted squarely at the 50+ across the UK and worldwide. The name of the venture is Silverscreen TV.

The channel will feature a range of lifestyle programming in a 'rolling magazine' format, and will be primarily supported through advertising revenue. Nash believes it's a group that no media company has ever targeted before, and which has an expansion capability that has until now gone unrealised.

The caveat for advertisers is that, in line with the audience's preference, only selected products and services will be considered relevant to the channel's viewers. "The over-50s now don't want Zimmer frames, they want Ferraris, or speed boats."

Tony I wish you the very best of luck with your venture, but I wish you had not chosen the name Silverscreen. It is better than Greyscreen; but not much. Dick Stroud: www.20plus30.com
