According to the Motion Picture Association of America, the number of moviegoers aged 50 to 59 rose 20% between July 2002 and last July, making them the fastest-growing segment in the market. The over-40s are a third of "frequent moviegoers," who head to watch a film at least once a month. This compares with 42% for the 12-to-24 bracket.
