My ‘idiotism’ word of the week is 'maturialism'

The word originates from the “Zeitgeist-watchers” at Trendwatching.com in Amsterdam. I must make a note of this term and put it on my CV.

Maturialism describe the baby-boomers’ determination to treat themselves to high-end goods, services and experiences simply because they can afford them.

All of this stuff came from an article in the Times Online.
It is worth a read, even if only to find out that “17 per cent of US mattress buyers spend $1,000-$2,000 on mattress and box-spring sets”.

If you have nothing better to do than look for strange new meaningless words then have a look at this site. Dick Stroud www.20plus30.com
