The era of discounts

Back in August 2006 I wrote about a new web site that provided information about companies providing discounts for older people.

I had some contact with Daniel Wilson, the guy behind the web site, who clearly knew exactly what his business was going to be about and didn’t seem daunted that he had to bootstrap it from a zero base.

Two years later the company is still going and is about to launch a new web site. The image shows what it will look like. A far cry from its original simple structure.

We are about to enter a period of deep discounting and if companies have any sense they will target a lot of these at the 50-plus. I reckon Daniel could be in the right place at the right time. Well done. Dick Stroud
