It is OK to be sorry for Millennials - for now

Excellent blog by Kim Walker about an article in Adage.

The analysis contains a comparison between Millennials, Gen X and Boomers at the same point in their life so you can see who spends what on what.

If the timing of one’s birth is an event of major consequence, then clearly Millennials drew the short straw. For those ages 25 to 34 in 2010 their real median household income was not materially higher than that of Boomers in 1990 and a full 11% below than Generation X in 2000, according to Census Bureau annual surveys.

Of course things can change and whilst Millennials are hard pushed today to get work that will not always be the case. Right now they don't look a very interesting bunch for marketers to pursue. Dick Stroud
