New research about tablet users

Two new sets of research have been published about the age and gender of tablet users in the US. The Comscore research  shows an interesting ratio of tablet to smartphone users.  I think the bottom line of this analysis is that the over 65s  are more likely to be purchasing table computers  before they buy smartphones.  The numbers are not that easy to get your head around.

The other report, which is much more comprehensive, is from the Online Publishers Association and is much easier to understand.

I think the graphics say it all all. Customers really like tablet computers and they really really like Apple iPads.

There looks to be a surge in purchasing tablet computers by the older demographic. This doesn't really come as much of a surprise.

So there you are. People love tablets and tablet users are getting older. Nothing surprising. But nice to have some stats to back up already know.  Dick Stroud
