New health and care technologies from Asia Pac

If you think that the ageing population ‘issue’ in the US and Europe is big then think again. In Asia Pacific it is massive.

I believe that many (probably most) of the new innovations in care related areas will come from the East, not the West.

This article in the WSJ is well worth reading and contains interesting details of some of the products that are beginning to emerge from the region.

Take the above example. Not exactly the nicest of subjects but this product would make it much better for the staff and people in care home who need to have their diapers regularly changed.

Ckicom Technology Ltd has created this disposable adult diaper equipped with a moisture sensor and a wireless system that sends wetness alerts to nursing-home workers via personal computers and mobile phones. Amazing stuff. Dick Stroud
