Healthy Boomers - more wishful thinking than reality?

I was reading a blog posting on the TrendSight Group web site that is led by Marti Barletta. This lady knows a lot about marketing to women.

The theme of the post was about the attitude of older women to wellness. From a quick glance it seemed to be saying that it is an important issue to the Boomer female.

There was an amusing comment that somebody had left that said:

Therein lies the rub. What people say they do is often not what they actually do. According to the American Heart Association, a very high percentage of boomers have diseases and symptoms that are preventable, including heart disease, high blood pressure and obesity.

I would guess for every Boomer lady that says that wellness is important only one in five translates the concern into action. For men I would think the conversion rate is much worse. Dick Stroud
