What does a Payday loan company and a breakfast cereal have in common?

I have recently written a lot about Wonga and why it decided to use older imagery and its style that borders onto being ageist. Yep, I know that is a subjective opinion.

It looks like another company is using the same approach. Shreddies, a Nestle brand, has actors rather than puppets but they are behaving in the same stereotypical way.

Have a look at the two ads together and see what I mean.

What I would give to have been a fly on the wall in the ad agencies when the creative for these two ads was a being pitched. Of course if anybody out there has any insider knowledge and would like to share with us? Dick Stroud
