The expectations of combining 'digital' and 'ageing' and making money will end in tears

Don't get me wrong, I think the recent (last 5 years) enthusiasm for investing in 'digital solutions' to satisfy some aspect of ageing is great. But, and there is a mighty big but, most of it will never move beyond a small scale cottage industry.

I am reminded by the influx of money that came flooding into the care industry. It looked a one way bet - more and more oldies - they have to go somewhere in their dotage - so invest in care homes. Wrong and thrice wrong.

The same with developing digital solutions for health, home care, and mobility. Superficially it looks like a great idea but the reality is very different.

Laurie Orlov, talks about this in here most recent blog. You should read it. Dick Stroud
