Goodbye kids halloo BMW 7 Series

How do US parents fill the lost delights of having their children living at home? It seems as if they get down to the car dealer and buy themselves a hot car.

Half of boomer households already own three or more vehicles, and that percentage is expected to increase.

The third car, the study says, is likely to be "aspirational," a car that reflects individual style.

What are these people currently buying? The list of cars for which more than one-third of buyers are ages 45 to 55 includes the Lexus SC series, the BMW 7 series, the Porsche Cayman and the Chevrolet Corvette. Dick Stroud
