All of the research I have seen shows that many (most) of the 50 Plus who are nearing retirement don’t want to stop working but they want to do something different. This might be out of necessity or because they are bored senseless with the activity that has consumed their working lives.
The best research that I have seen about post retirement life for the 50 Plus has been done by Civic Ventures and was funded by the MetLife Foundation.
Accompanying the research is a “Boomer’s Guide to Good Work”. Like the research, this is a well written and useful document.
Obviously, both these documents are written for a US audience but most of the content is equally appropriate to Europe. Dick:20plus30.com
