This current edition of Marketing magazine (UK) has three items related to the 50+.
An article entitled: This is Mrs Grey. What a strange title when the main contributor (Jo Rigby) concludes the piece by saying “client understanding is at a zero level and the outdated term ’grey market’ which is a negative, dull term and part of the problem”
There an interview article with Ken Burgess the co-founder and chairman of Secondlifestyle. This tells some more about the company’s plans including the launch, in conjunction with Conde Nast of a 50+ magazine called ‘2’.
Finally there is a letter berating Marketing about the choice of speakers at its olderricherwiser conference for having too many from the old-old world like Saga, Age Concern and Help the Aged. Since I am also speaking at this conference I need to be a bit careful but the writer has a point.
Sorry, none of this material is available online unless you have a subscription to Marketing or Brandrepublic. Dick Stroud: www.20plus30.com
