Another daft acronym about the 50+ has crawled out of the woodwork. SWANS: Stopping Working and Now Spending.
An entry in Direct Marketing Weekly pronounces that that the 50+ like and respond to DM. Sadly the article is a mishmash of the usual truisms about the 50+ and couldn’t resist including the most over-used boilerplate sentence in the history of mankind: “They represent 40 per cent of the population, hold 80 per cent of the nation's wealth and spend £240m per year on consumer goods”.
