The coffin scores 8 out of 10

SCI the world's largest owner of funeral homes and cemeteries, has partnered with global marketing research giant J.D. Power and Associates to understand what makes the Baby Boom generation tick. Well more accurately, to understand what boomers think of the arrangements for their parents “celebration of life” as well as planning in advance for their own. I loved the term “celebration of life”.

Well the marketer in me says well done SCI for trying to get hold of some information about your customers (well ex-customers). I just have macabre images of tall men in black, from J.D Power and Associates, appearing with clipboards and wandering around the tearful wake getting people to fill in questionnaires.

As the press release says: “Our work with SCI will allow them to understand their performance across the families they serve, and provide a road-map to improved customer satisfaction and stronger customer loyalty”. What next, buy two funerals, get one free? Dick Stroud www.20plus30.com
