goldengapyears.com what a great idea

A lot of my friends are planning their post 50 gap years. Having seen (and paid) for their children to travel to far off places and read their e-mails about what a terrific time they are having in some remote part of Viet Nam they have decided that now is their turn for some fun. We know that that the fastest growing segment of people staying in hostels are the 50+ which reinforces the view that having gap years for oldies is a reality.

Gapwork is the UK's biggest publisher of information for young people planning their gap year. What has the company gone and done? Launched a web site for the over 50s called goldengapyears.com.

What a great idea. Their site is similar in format to the one they use for their youth market but will be populated with content for older people. I could say a few words about the site design but that can wait. I think it is a great idea and wish them well. I like the ad they are running on their youth site (see below).
