Women get the hang of aging

You might say that this is a no-brainer, universal truth, and that I am a sad old sod if I have only just realised the fact. Without doubt I should get out more!

Of all the numerous areas of consumer behaviour that we (I) don’t understand I am certain that the way women adapt better to aging is the most fascinating. The two stereotypes are the woman who becomes more adventurous and looks to squeeze every ounce of enjoyment out of the remainder of her life and the male who falls into black hole of moaning, introspection and inactivity. Yes, yes, yes I know they are horrible stereotypes but there is an element of truth there that needs investigating.

Can you imagine blokes creating the red hat society?

Welcome to the place where there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and, since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.

Nope, I don’t think so. Dick Stroud
