Bristol Magazines, the recently established specialist arm of BBC Magazines, plans to launch three titles aimed at older readers by April next year. At least one of the trio will appear before the end of 2006.
They will have a circulation of between 30,000 and 70,000 and will target affluent 40 to 55 year-olds and be tied to a BBC programming strand, like BBC History.
How strange that the BBC could not go the whole way and target an even larger group of TV watchers and magazine buyers (the 55+). Still it is a start. Dick Stroud
