Thinkbox is the television marketing body for all the UK commercial broadcasters - Channel 4, Five, GMTV, ids, ITV, Sky media, Turner Broadcasting and Viacom Brand solutions.
It’s stated aim is to: "work with the UK marketing community with a single ambition - to help customers get the best out of television”. Translated from marketing-speak this means: “to try and sell as much TV advertising as possible”.
What I thought was amusing (some would say infuriating) was the search feature for case studies by “Target Audience” give the accompanying drop down menu. Notice anything missing. No? OK, I will give you a clue – it a number beginning with ‘5’. Come to that – a number beginning with ‘4’.
Great to see that the advertising industry is tuned into to modern living styles and has progressed to using a term like 'housewives'. Dick Stroud
