OFCOM (The Office of Communications) has just published a report titled the International Communications - Market 2006.
The 221 pages considers the levels of availability and adoption of communications services and how they are used by consumers in six major countries (France, Germany, Italy, the US, Japan and China) in addition to the UK.
In addition some research is also done into the five other nations (Netherlands, Poland, Ireland, Sweden and Spain).
The report examines the size and make-up of each sector in each country and look at the areas which are growing fastest plus exploring the technological and regulatory environment in which operators provide services.
It is a good background document that marketers should have in their digital library and best of all it is free. There is a lot of analysis of the take-up of various communications services by age. Definitely worth downloading. Dick Stroud
