She is very interested in the older market and the way woman relate to technology and is using the results of her research to condition the new generation of Logitech products. I am not sure if this product and ad are the first fruits of this research but it looks a really sexy product (as much as you can make a webcam look sexy). Take note, this ad appeared in the Saturday magazine of the Financial Times alongside ultra expensive jewellery and watches. It looks like the webcam could become a fashion accessory – and why not!
The copy is still a bit too ‘techy’: “a high quality glass lens and light correction technology….integrated echo-cancellation….” However, this is a long way from the geek ads that technology companies (excluding Apple) normally produce.
So a major company like Logitech is very actively looking at the older market and the importance of the woman as a purchaser of technology. So should you. Dick Stroud
