Be very careful of your CAPTCHA

No it is not a new brand of coffee, Latin dance or teenage slang word.

CAPTCHA stands for (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart). It is that funny image containing characters, which are getting harder to read, you have to re-key when you transact with some web sites.

They exist to stop spammers using the web site. There is a small flaw in this technology. For people lacking 20/20 vision they can be difficult, infuriating and increasingly impossible to use.

This is a good article about CAPTCHAs and the 50-plus. Dick Stroud
