Have you got an accessible web site? Odds are you haven’t

The UN commissioned a study to see how accessible the world’s web sites are. It is too long a story to explain why the UN is involved in accessibility but if it achieves the same success in improving accessibility as it has in sorting out Darfur then I don’t think much is likely to change.

The bottom line is that web sites are not very accessible. Why doesn’t that surprise me? The three sites that get a triple a ranking all belong to Governments including the British Prime Minister’s site

Accessibility, usability and the physiological effects of ageing are all very much linked together. Unfortunately, we seem to be making painfully slow progress in getting web designers to take either or all of these subjects seriously. Dick Stroud
