Microsoft - you disappoint me

Microsoft has just launched a new advertising web site, claiming
A New Era - Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions
Reach and engage with your target audience across multiple digital touchpoints—and optimize your advertising impact through our world-class partnership services.
If you go to the UK site and look to see how to ‘engage’ with a 55 year old see that Microsoft doesn’t bother with anybody above 54 - see the image of the drop-down menu.

To be fair, if you look for age and gender it does contain a category for the 55+.

Firstly, this is sloppy web site design but far more importantly it means that I can search on age, in increments of 9 years between 15-54 but for the remainder of the age spectrum I have to make do with a single all encompassing 55+ group.

If the site is to believed (something that I strongly suggest you don't) then the top online activities of women, aged 45-54, in the UK is looking at Horoscopes. Women aged 55+, according to Microsoft, spend no appreciable time on sites related to travel, finance or health.

I don’t believe it. Dick Stroud
