The importance of smartphones and tablets just gets more and more important

Thanks to Kim Walker for sending me the link to a presentation from Business Insider (BI) about the future of smartphones and tablets.

Of course we know that both products are more likely to be bought by the young than the old and by those with more disposable income but you can see, especially with tablets, that gap is closing - at least for tablets.

This should not surprise anybody since tablets are inherently a far more age-friendly product that a laptop or a smartphone.

What this presentation drives home is the importance of understanding how older people use this technology since it is going to be (is) so important to marketers. The importance of the emerging markets is the other thing that jumps out of this presentation. Dick Stroud
