Old news published as new - Marketing Week does its annual over-50s story

There has been a distortion in the space time continuum. I have just read an article in Marketing Week that has popped through from 2004.

Research shows:

  • Advertising is not aimed at or appreciated by the over-50s
  • There are lots of them
  • They feel pretty good about themselves 
  • Etc etc etc etc 


If you have been reading my blog you will know the story. I honestly thought that we had been there and done that. It is a bit like saying that a strange object will rise in the east and set in the west and calling it news.

Come on guys tell us something we don't know.

All I can assume is that every 3-4 years you get some poor journalist that is given the 'over-50s' brief. Every time they know nothing of the subject and publish the first bit of research that lands on their desk.
