Consumers are increasingly monitoring food labels - pity they cannot read them

As usual with Nielsen, they have published an excellent report  about the state of health in the US and the variation in attitudes of consumers about taking care of themselves.

If this is your area - a must to read.

I was amused at the emphasis placed on the importance of labels.

One of the things that Kim Walker and I have learnt that whilst they might be important, consumers are incredibly frustrated by not being able to read the blessed things and if they can read them to make any senses of them.

Maybe that is where CPG companies should start. Make sure consumers can read your packaging, understand what it say and even more important be able to remove it from the product. Dick Stroud
