Most over-45s expect to retire with almost half a £million in assets. You must be joking

This depressing report from the Equity Release Council illustrates the fantasy that most people live in regarding their retirement finances. With the average pension investment pot equalling  £32,000 it is clear that people's expectations and knowledge about how they will fund their retirement is in cloud cuckoo land.

Warning to all marketers. Next time you read ..." people expect xxxxx financial assets in retirement" take it with a massive pinch of salt. Dick Stroud
