The most prosperous and largest parts of the UK are going to see the highest increase in the numbers of the 65+

The latest estimates, from the Office of National Statistics,  have just been published about how the UK's population will change over the next decade.

Nothing surprising, but just in case you have been living in a cave for the past decade you had better look at and understand the implications of this chart.

If charts don't work for you then read the comments from Suzie Dunsmith, Population Projections Unit, Office for National Statistics.

“All regions of England are projected to see an increase in their population size over the next decade, with London, the East of England and South East projected to grow faster than the country as a whole. The population is also ageing with all regions seeing a faster growth in those aged 65 and over than in younger age groups.”

Let me put this another way. The most prosperous and largest parts of the UK are going to see the highest increase in the numbers of the 65+. You can work out what that means for your business. Dick Stroud
