It’s all about ‘disposable income per unit of consumption’- OK.

One of Senioragency’s press release contains this very impressive table.

If that doesn’t convince the doubting youngsters of the marketing profession about the worth of the older age group I don’t know what wil!!

Before waxing too lytical about the majesty of the analysis I thought I had better make sure I really understand what these numbers mean. The press release says: “The key concept of disposable income per unit of consumption (that is, relating to people living under the same roof) is very important, since it expresses the income available in a household where rates and taxes, etc have been paid. The table shows household disposable income by age group, on average in developed countries (all together = 100)”

Not sure I understand what this means. Having spent a couple of minutes with Google to find something I could understand I gave up when I read this definition” Disposable income per unit of consumption defines then poor as those which have less than half the national average (conversely, smaller by one half for the rich)”

Anybody who can give a simple explanation please get in contact.
