Seen in Saturday’s Telegraph:“a poll by Britain’s biggest insurer, Prudential” tells us that “Nearly a quarter of Britons approaching pension age say they aim to retire overseas”
There is undoubtedly a desire, by an undefined, but significant number of Brits to retire to the sun – but 25%?
How big was the poll? What question gave this response? Was it something like “could you see yourself retiring abroad” or “I have definite plans to retire abroad”? It is this sort of sloppy use of fragments of “research” that leads to such a poor reporting and understanding of older consumers. Dick Stroud: www.20plus30.com
