I reckon I have a good handle on what is going on in the 50+ world but the launch of this new magazine (Modern & Mature) just crept up on me. What is really galling is that it is supposed to have been sent to 1 million of the UK’s 50+ and it looks as if my name is not on the list.
This is what Media Week had to say about the publication.
Modern & Mature, from specialist publisher Response 2 Limited, will be delivered directly to one million homes in England with a guaranteed occupancy of over 50s from 4th November. It will also be available on subscription for £1.50. The content will be supplied by The Press Association and will feature a mix of interviews, topic-led features and advice as well as a range of competitions, special offers, short stories and puzzles.
Publisher Julie Salter said: “Over the past two years, Response 2 has developed excellent relationships with customers in the grey market and has developed an intelligent and targeted database. “We have recognized a requirement for a magazine which is delivered direct through the doors of these consumers and provides a specialist platform for advertisers targeting the over 50s market.
I will withhold my views until I can get hold of a copy. My first impressions from looking at the Web site and from the publications name are not good. This is a link to the advertising rates and coverage details.
Clearly the magazine has got up the nose on another blogger. This makes an amusing read. Dick Stroud www.20plus30.com
