NEETS (not in education, employment or training) represent a group of 1.1 million teenagers and young people in their twenties. That is a lot of people, around 10% of the age cohort.
These young people live on nothing other than what their parents give them and the state handouts. Mainly the latter. From what has been written about them they are not the brightest bunch of consumers alive. Have a read of this article if you need convincing.
