If companies diverted 5% of their advertising budget and spent it on improving the usability of products, support and marketing it would be the best investment they could make. Why don’t they? Simple. Usability sounds like is some arcane science whilst advertising is all about being creative and stuff.
Well we are going to have a World Usability Day (3 Nov 2006). I wish them all of the luck in the world, since usability is disproportionably important to the 50-plus, but I don’t hold out too many hopes. Dick Stroud

Thanks for the support Dick! Actually, it is November 3 200*5* - just a few days away. We do not have a date set for the 2006 World Usability Day, but people are already getting excited about it.
