Over-50s versus 50-Plus

It has taken me a long time realise that the most common way that people over the age of 50 are referred to in the UK is “over-50s”.

I have been counting the references using Google Alerts for “Baby Boomers”, “50-Plus”, “Boomers”, "50+" and “over-50s” and the later is the clear winner.

Perhaps I should re-title the blog: Over-50s Marketing. Somehow it just doesn’t sound right.

Searching on Google for over-50s you find a host of the cheap and cheerful 50+ portal sites.

Over50s.com
Silvers Surfers
My Prime
Seniority
Later Life

I wonder what the relative paid for search cost is “50 Plus” and “over 50s”. A subject for another blog posting. Dick Stroud
