What do they put in milk these days?

Good news for UK farmers. Growth in the retail milk sector is being led by the growing popularity of fermented milk drinks containing probiotic activity and omega-3 oils.

Drinks like Yakult and Danone's Actimel seems to be lifting sales in the entire milk products sector. These two web sites must be the worst I have seen in ages. Absolutely dreadful.

The reason for milk's new found success is attributed to the 50-plus generation who are increasingly focusing on their health. Take note food manufacturers – the 50-plus over index on health consciousness and the willingness to spend money on healthy foods.

The other reason for the buoyancy of milk sales is that the great unwashed British public seem to think that a swig of milk is a quick fix to counteract the mountain of junk-food they pour down their throats. Dick Stroud
