Men are catching-up with women in the life expectancy game

The Economist reports some new research that shows that men seem to be narrowing the gap with women in terms of life expectancy.

If for any reason you cannot access this article you can download the original report upon which the article was based upon and if you want even more information then you can download a report about the differences in longevity caused by socio economic groups.

As the chart shows - either men are getting healthier or women are getting more like men.

There seem to be multiple reasons for the narrowing between the sexes. Interesting for actuaries but of limited use to marketers.

What is much more interesting is the difference in healthy life expectancy between the sexes. This is a subject shouting our for more research. Dick Stroud
