In the UK, in bygone days, one of the school punishments was to make the errant child write the same, important statement, 100s sometimes 1000s of times. This had two purposes. Firstly, they would find the experience unpleasant and just as importantly they would learn something useful.
If I could I would adopt the same procedure with marketers and get them to write the statement; “Pensions matter to marketers”, as many times as necessary until they took it seriously. What consumers have to pay in pensions they don’t spend. Look at the main headline in today’s US press and you will see that President Bush, used his first prime-time television news conference of his second term, to talk about pensions and how and who will ensure they are paid. You had better get used to seeing headlines associated with pensions, they are not going away. Dick Stroud www.20plus30.com
